ABOUT
I am a final year photography student from the University of Huddersfield. My most recent project isMy World Moves Slower at Night. This series of images explores the meditative state of mind experienced when walking. These images are gentle in what they convey, they focus attention towards an intimate relationship between myself as the photographer and the landscapes photographed. For me this is documented through places that fulfil a significant part within my daily life, places I go to in order to find peace and tranquillity. The places I photograph reflect the emotions I felt within that space, however, the narrative is derived from the anxieties I have viewed within other people’s and my own life. By going to these spaces I am able to escape from these unwanted anxieties and create a meditative state of mind. Frequently devoid of active human figures, yet suffused with energy, they play on the interaction between artificial lighting and the inescapable shadows of the night.
