We took a visit to the Impressions gallery in Bradford the view the work Nalinie by Aripta Shah. Spanning India, East Africa and the UK Aripta explores the connections between herself, her mother and her grandmother. the exhibition shows the ancestral intimacies across space and time. How their histories and memories are all connected in some way or how.

Angela Sheard was the curator of this exhibition and we were lucky enough to receive a talk from her explaining the different jobs she takes on as a curator. For example one of the walls was painted slightly blue and this was due to the face that they wanted a feature wall yet some colours just didn't work with Ariptas work. It needed to be a light colour, one that fitted well with the colour tones within Ariptas photography.
